Here's an extra treat for our faithful supporters who were forced to wait a little longer than normal for last night's Friday Night Is Music Night (apologies, but technical issues forced a delay).
The whole village of Loxford has been out hunting for Albert and the mayor, Mr Upfold, arrives at Albert’s mother’s shop holding Albert’s ‘May King’ wreath which has been ‘crushed by a cart’. This provokes the Threnody – an ostinato ensemble by the cast. Each of the main characters sings a verse of lament. All convinced of the worst, the gathering is interrupted by the ring of the shop bell as Albert appears, worse for wear.
