Preview: our new video

Here's our latest venture – a short five minute film captured during our Picnic Gala concert back in September. As well as a behind the scenes glimpse of the rehearsal process, the video shows our musicians and our audience thoroughly enjoying their first taste of live entertainment in months.

The main purpose of the video is, of course, to raise the profile of St Paul's Opera and it will be used to attract new sponsors and donations. Opera is a much loved art form but to put on a fully staged performance, as we do each year, is an expensive business. Indeed ever since its birth, opera has survived thanks to financial patronage. In early years it enjoyed royal patronage, and today the survival of most major opera houses of the world is only possible with the support of both commercial sponsorship and personal donations.
